New partnership strengthens behavioral health services for children in Southern CT

Stamford, Conn., January 15, 2020 – Child Guidance Center of Southern CT, Inc. (CGC) and Community Health Center, Inc. (CHC) have formed an alliance, uniting the two organizations to strengthen and expand behavioral health services for children in Southern Connecticut. Each group brings decades of caring for the underserved in lower Fairfield County, and a fervent commitment to ensuring behavioral health is available to all area children and families in crisis.

“The alliance with Community Health Center offers CGC the opportunity to expand our services and make an even greater impact on the lives of our patients and their families,” said Jessica Welt, CGC’s CEO/Clinical Director. “We considered several possible partnerships; CHC was most closely aligned with our mission and values, and brings a national reputation of innovation and excellence in behavioral and primary care.”

“We saw in CGC a kindred spirit focused on improving the lives of children, which is core to our mission, and why we are in close to 200 schools throughout Connecticut proving behavioral and primary care services,” commented CHC Founder/CEO Mark Masselli. “Together, we look forward to enhancing behavioral services and addressing the complex challenges families are managing.”

Both organizations will retain their individual names and identities, with CGC employees becoming employees of CHC. Services will be offered at the same facilities at which patients are currently seen, including CGC’s locations in Stamford and Greenwich and CHC’s offices in Stamford, Norwalk and Danbury.
