The Mayor’s Youth Leadership Council, in collaboration with the Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut (CGC), invites the community to celebrate the life and work of Larry Feldman, LCSW, at a memorial service on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 5:00 p.m.
Larry Feldman dedicated most of his life helping at-risk youth overcome challenges to thrive. He was director of CGC’s Emergency Mobile Psychiatric Services team, where he responded to 2-1-1 calls and worked with over 500 children who struggled with suicidal thoughts, severe depression, abuse, and trauma. Larry’s work helped these youth realize their potential and give them the will to not only live, but to succeed. “Larry’s unfortunate death was felt by many in the community, and it warms our heart that the Youth Leadership Council has organized this service to honor his legacy,” stated Jessica Welt, PsyD, CGC’s Clinical Director.
To honor Larry’s work, a memorial fund has been created and will support CGC’s Emergency Mobile Psychiatric Services (EMPS) program. EMPS saves children’s lives by providing crisis support 365 days a year and prevents suicide, violence, and other dangerous behaviors. Make a donation in Larry Feldman’s memory today!
Larry Feldman’s Memorial Service will be held in the lobby of the Stamford Government Center at 888 Washington Blvd., Stamford, CT 06901. For more information, contact Irene Seguin at (203) 517-3357 or [email protected].
