To expand and enhance their Psychology Training Program, the Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut (CGC) hired Julie Ringelheim, PsyD as their Psychology Training Program Director. Dr. Ringelheim earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Skidmore College, and both her Master of Arts and doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology for The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

Dr. Ringelheim explained that she chose to join the CGC team because, “the agency offered me the opportunity to continue working with children and families while providing training support to psychology interns and post doctoral fellows. I was drawn to CGC’s exceptional reputation as a psychology training center, in addition to the agency’s commitment to serve the youth of our community, regardless of their family’s ability to pay.”

Prior to joining the CGC team, Dr. Ringelheim worked as a supervising psychologist at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, within the Child and Adolescent Outpatient Service department, providing psychotherapy and psychological assessments to children in a community mental health setting.

“CGC’s training program was designed to prepare the next generation of psychologists. Through our training opportunities, CGC is directly contributing to the future of children’s mental health care, enhancing the knowledge and experience of interns and fellows,” Dr. Ringelheim explained.
