Mr. Vertula earned his Bachelor’s degree in Human Service from Charter Oak State College and graduated from the University of Bridgeport with a double Master’s degree in Counseling/Human Resource Management and with a degree in Community Clinical Counseling.  He is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Connecticut.    

Prior to joining the Child Guidance Center he worked for the State of Connecticut for over 20 years and held several supervisory and management positions during his tenure.  He was a Social Worker Supervisor for the Department of Social Services and also for the Department of Children and Families. 

His most current position held was the Behavioral Health Clinical Manager for State of Connecticut’s Department of Mental Health and Addition Services over the Young Adult Services program working with young adults aging out of the foster care system who have significant histories of trauma.
