The Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut (CGC), a nonprofit agency providing mental health services to children, adolescents and their families, is pleased to announce Jamie Boris as a new member to their Board of Directors.
Boris is a partner and co-founder of DB Philanthropy Advisors, a New York-based professional consulting firm to non-profit organizations, corporations, and high-profile individuals, providing expertise in the areas of fundraising, strategic planning, marketing, grant making, public relations, and special events. She previously spent 11 years at The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, Inc. (OCRF), where she served as the organization’s first executive director, managing all operations, grant making activities, and fundraising initiatives. “It is an honor to represent an agency that does so much for the community and to be surrounded by Board members that are as passionate about helping youth as I am,” said Boris.”
Boris brings a breadth of non-profit knowledge to CGC’s Board, as she has over 15 years of experience with all elements of organization fundraising, including creating innovative special events, corporate partnerships, cause-related marketing campaigns, and cultivating relations with donors and celebrities. “We couldn’t be more thrilled about this new addition to our Board,” said CGC’s President and CEO, Dr. Eliot Brenner. “To have a Board member that has so much hands-on experience in the non-profit sector can only add to our repertoire of innovative initiatives.”
Boris received her Bachelor’s Degree in American Culture from Northwestern University and currently resides in New Canaan with her husband and two children.
